1. How often do people eat and what do they eat?

Most people eat three times a day. We start the day with breakfast which usually consists of a slice of bread or some rolls with butter, salami or jam. In summer Slovaks like eating vegetables for breakfast like tomatoes, pepper, radish and we drink a cup of coffee, milk or we have a cup of tea.

At about twelve we have lunch which is the main meal of the day consisting of soup and meat with rice or potatoes and salad. As for meat Slovaks prefer chicken and pork, some people like fish. A lot of people cook their lunch at home but some go to the restaurants or school canteen.

At about 6 or 7 o´clock people have supper. It is often very similar to breakfast. For supper people can have scrambled eggs or toasts, those who want to lose some weight don´t have supper or they eat vegetable salad instead of bread or rolls.

During the day we usually have small snacks consisting of fruit or yoghurt or some biscuits.

Vegetarians are people who refuse eating all kinds of meat. I´m not a vegetarian but I agree that people should eat meat only twice or three times a week because eating meat is not very healthy. I prefer fish and poultry and I never eat beef or pork.

4. What are the negatives of fast food?

Some people, especially those who are always in a hurry, go to fast food restaurants where they can eat quickly prepared meals like hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, chips but they are really fat, so they shoudn´t be eaten too often. People should eat different kinds of vegetables and fruits like tomatoes, onion, garlic, cabbage, cucumbers, pepper, carrot, lettuce, apples, oranges, bananas, plums, pears, strawberries, peaches because they contain many vitamins which are essential for our body.
